To extract files and directories you should first log in to your Account Manager and then click Web Hosting. Then click Manage and in the Tools section, click File Manager. Finally select the compressed file to be extracted. Keep in mind that you can only extract one file at a time and the file should not exceed 20MB. Click the Extract icon in the action bar. Use Extract To if you need to enter the name of a new or existing destination folder. Click Browse To if you need to navigate to an existing directory and then select the folder. You can overwrite existing files or directories with the same name within the selected destination directory. Finally click OK. Now your file is extracted in the selected folder and uncompressed.

In its turn, many PC users need to compress the files and folders for easier account maintenance and file storage while their hosting account grows in size. The easiest way to compress and archive files and directories is by using the File Manager you can find in the Control Panel of your hosting account.

To archive files and directories you should log in to your Account Manager and click Web Hosting. Click Manage near the hosting account you want to use. Find the Tools section, click File Manager. When selecting the files and directories to archive keep in mind that you can only archive not more than 250MB of data at a time. Find the More menu and click Archive. You will need to enter a name for this archive file as well as select the archive type: Zip (.zip) for Windows or Linux hosting accounts or Tar GZip (tar.gz) for Linux hosting accounts. Next choose Download or Directory on server. If you select the latter, enter the name of a new or existing destination folder or click Browse to navigate to an existing directory. Password protection is only available for Zip archive compression. Finally click OK. Your archive file is now compressed and saved in the selected directory.
